In the region of Akbou, Bejaia, our story began in 1988 with the creation of a craft production unit in a simple garage. In a context of national crisis where food was scarce, our small family business took the initiative to meet the local demand for wheat flour and corn starch.
We named our original range 'Nawal' in reference to the family's first grandchild as a sign of rebirth. In the middle of the 'black decade', we developed our activity and wanted to offer a little sweetness to the Algerians by launching a new product: the flan. That year, we expanded our distribution network to 5 new wilayas.
We’ve started the industrialization of our activity, we entered a new segment, bakery and pastry professionals’ clients, by offering them products adapted to their needs with the best quality / price ratio.
For a further diversify in our products we create Abia Food and expand our range of products. We offer Algerian families new delicacies for more taste and fun in the kitchen. That year, our distribution network extend to 20 wilayas.
We took up the challenge of organizing ourselves in the midst of a health crisis (Covid-19). Our family has grown and united like never before. We have succeeded, together, in adapting, in readjusting ourselves, by using our collective intelligence against adversity. We are ready to welcome, together, all the great projects and rewarding challenges that await us for the next decade.
